RAPID COMMUNICATION Constitutive Production of Interleukin-6 and Tumor Necrosis Factor-cw From Spontaneously Proliferating T Cells in Patients With Human T-cell Lymph

چکیده
The human T-cell lymphotropic viruses (HTLV) type I and type II are capable of inducing a variety of cellular genes, including many of the cytokines that regulate cell proliferation. To determine if the spontaneous proliferation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients infected with HTLV-I and HTLV-II was related to coordinate expression of cytokines, we analyzed the levels of interleukin-lp (IL-lp), IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) and interferon(IFN-7) in culture supernatants derived from spontaneously proliferating cells. Significantly elevated lev-

Abstract Background and purpose: Different laboratories have considered different maturation factors for producing human dendritic cells (DC) from peripheral blood monocytes. In this study, we comprehensively investigated the effect of adding poly (I:C) to standard maturation stimulus, i.e. MCM and TNF-α on the induction of T cell response. Materials and methods: Peripheral blood monocytes ...
متن کاملComparative Analysis of CD4+ and CD8+ T Cells in Tumor Tissues, Lymph Nodes and the Peripheral Blood from Patients with Breast Cancer
Background: CD4+ and CD8+ T cells are the main types of lymphocytes in cell-mediated immunity and play a central role in the induction of efficient immune responses against tumors. The frequencies of T cell subtypes in the peripheral blood and tumor tissues, and draining lymph nodes (dLN) can be considered as useful markers for evaluation of the immune system in cancers. Methods: In this study,...
متن کاملInfection with human T-lymphotropic viruses leads to constitutive expression of leukemia inhibitory factor and interleukin-6.
Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), similar to interleukin-6 (IL-6), is a glycoprotein growth factor and differentiation regulator that has pleiotropic activity in several cellular systems. Recent reports of constitutive IL-6 production from spontaneously proliferating cells from human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV)-infected individuals led us to examine the expression of IL-6 and LIF during HTLV i...
متن کاملClinical Relevance of Cytokines Gene Polymorphisms and Protein Levels in Gingival Cervical Fluid from Chronic Periodontitis Patients
Background: Cytokines are suggested to play a role in periodontitis. Objective: To determine and compare the levels of Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples amongst healthy individuals and those with chronic periodontitis. Further to compare the GCF cytokine levels in three genotype classes defined by the respective gene p...
